History:
Wiki!
Why do you think your character would work in this setting?
He's somewhere he can show off his intelligence. He'll be a bit on the reclusive side at first, but more quickly than some of the kids from Wammys, come out of his shell and talk to people. Maybe help them understand chat speak which he uses out of laziness more than anything.
How do you plan to expand their CR?
He'll talk to people, help them where needed, and likely work at NextGen. He's probably going to also bond with those who hack. By hacking them first. And not denying it while not not denying it.
What will your character do for work?
NextGen 2.0 would be his goal probably but he'd be fine anywhere, really.
Inventory:
Clothes on his back, gun tucked into the back of his vest, four packs of cigarettes, a zippo lighter, and a Bic lighter.

Third-Person Sample:
Before he showed up, he was reaching for his gun to at least try taking out some of those guards. That gun getting pulled out quickly in reaction, though finger far from the trigger, glancing around and eyes narrowing behind those goggles before he moved to tuck the handgun in the back of his pants for now, taking a drag of his cigarette, giving a little nod to the couple witnesses. As though that wasn't his reaction. Someone mentioned going to C&P, which he would do for sure. On his way there, that's when he looked around a bit more to see where he was, slowly putting together an idea of what was happening. Obviously he wasn't on his earth. It was possible he was dead, but he wasn't all too sure about that. As opposed to Mello being more on the religious side, Matt went with the flow. Whatever happened after death happened. Didn't mean it was any less terrifying a concept, but still.
So when he was told what was going on at Customs, he was a bit more on the excited side even. Sure, his stipend could have possibly been used a bit more wisely than he did, but hey. He managed to make things work well enough at least and had immediately gone into looking into where could be of interest to him. Seeing NextGen 2.0 had caught his attention in nearly spades. Videogames? Alien video games potentially as well? Oh if he was dead he has gone straight to heaven. Take that, Kira.
However, now was the time to go about getting the cheapest living possible that could still afford the vices of his life. For now, he did research on the town. Creator of the network, those who might be a bit more fun, and once he figured it out, sitting on the mattress of his place, he smirked, cigarette unlit sitting between his lips. Penelope seemed interesting, but he supposed now was the best time to give a little hello to...
